There's nothing like a day spent on a stretch of serene Emerald Coast beach. With white sand, clear water, and endless sunshine, there's no better place to vacation! If you're like me, then you can never get enough of this perfect coastline. Lucky for us, the public beach access is about to expand

The City of Destin, the Board of Okaloosa County Commissioners, and the Trust for Public Land recently started demolishing property at the site that will soon become Tarpon Beach public park. Located along Scenic HWY 98, this park is going to be fabulous. It will add 350 feet of public beach!

The new beach access will benefit locals and visitors alike. There will be more room and no vendors. Tarpon Beach is going to be a beautiful park with beach access, ample parking, a pavilion, and an accessway to the beach. It is expected to open in May 2024.

While you're waiting for Tarpon Beach to open, you can visit Destin's many other public beaches! There are currently eight beach trails and five public beach parks that you can explore. For more information on public beaches, visit https://www.cityofdestin.com/281/Beach-Information

Come spend some time on the beach! Plan your trip to Destin today!
