The park's splash pad, which features roughly 30 fountains, is expected to be a top attraction at the new 3.4-acre park at 101 Calhoun Ave. The park has been open on and off since last fall, but an official opening was delayed because of Hurricane Sally and COVID-19. On May 13th, however, the park finally had its opening ceremony and became ready for public use! It will be open daily from dusk to dawn. ![e0a25a7d-504c-474f-b40a-26ea47b832bc-splash_pad_button](https://www.emeraldcoast.me/hs-fs/hubfs/e0a25a7d-504c-474f-b40a-26ea47b832bc-splash_pad_button.jpg?width=660&name=e0a25a7d-504c-474f-b40a-26ea47b832bc-splash_pad_button.jpg)Photo from [https://www.nwfdailynews.com/story/lifestyle/things-to-do/destin/2021/05/11/splash-pad-expected-top-draw-capt-leonard-destin-park-florida/4962815001/](https://www.nwfdailynews.com/story/lifestyle/things-to-do/destin/2021/05/11/splash-pad-expected-top-draw-capt-leonard-destin-park-florida/4962815001/)  Guests will be able to splash and play in a variety of water features or they can relax on the turf.
