Because of COVID-19, Christmas feels a bit different this year. Many of the usual family gatherings and holiday traditions can no longer safely happen, leaving many in search of new ways to celebrate and keep their spirits up. Luckily, COVID-19 has not stopped people from putting up Christmas lights. Here are a few of the best places to view festive Christmas lights on the Emerald Coast!

Candy Cane Lane in Destin

You may have heard of California's Candy Cane Lane, but you might not know that Destin has their very own Candy Cane Lane. Every winter, Sea Oats Drive transforms into a winter wonderland. The decorations are amazing. They might inspire you to step up your own decorations!

Northgate Estates in Fort Walton Beach 

Northgate Estates (located at 232 Echo Circle, Fort Walton Beach) is a subdivision that goes all out every winter. Santa would be proud! They decorate from top to bottom and even have their own Christmas parade.

Sowell's North Pole Christmas Light Display in Milton 

Every year, Sowell Farm sets up a drive-through Christmas light display. That's right- you can see the lights from the comfort of your own car! This display is unlike anything else in the region. It features over a million lights, and it is guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit!

Geek Lights on the Corner in Niceville 

Geek Lights on the Corner is a 25 minute light and music show. It is run by local reporter Jeff Werner, who writes the popular column "It's Geek to Me." This year's incredible display features over 50,000 lights set to music! You can find this awe-inspiring show on the corner of Blue Water Bay Boulevard and Antiqua Way. 

There are so many places to see Christmas lights on the Emerald Coast- the options are literally endless. Taking a trip to any small town guarantees you a pretty view of Christmas lights.
