Finding The Truman Show in Seaside

September 26, 2020

The Truman Show is arguably one of the most iconic films of the 90s. It stars Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank, a young man who doesn't know that his entire life is a TV show being recorded by hidden cameras. What many fans don't know about the movie, however, is that it was filmed in Seaside, Florida, and that many of the filming locations can still be seen today! Here are a few of the spots that you can visit in Seaside to feel like you're a part of The Truman Show.

Ruskin Place

Ruskin Place is a quiet park surrounded by boutique stores and art galleries. In The Truman Show, Ruskin Place is on the way to Truman's office. A sign for Rubeo Architects- featured in the film- still hangs in Ruskin Place to this day.

Modica Market

The bustling grocery store from The Truman Show is as busy as ever, and is still staffed by some of the same workers featured in the film! See if you can spot Charlie Modica, who was featured on-screen, or take your picture in front of the official movie poster that hangs on the walls.

The Truman House

Truman Burbank's house is located at 31 Natchez Street. It is a charming, pastel-colored house surrounded by a classic white picket fence. Although the coloring has changed some, the house and the street still look largely the same as they did in the film.

Other sites to visit are Coleman Tower, the Seaside Post Office, Seaside Central Square, and the Tupelo Street Gazebo! Visit Seaside and see all that this charming town has to offer. If you spot other film locations, tell us about them in the comments!
