Crab Island. An island full of crabs? What might catch newcomers the most off guard is that Crab Island isn't an island at all- rather, it is a popular sandbar. There might be some crabs around it sometimes, but most of them are probably underwater! Crab Island can be found at the north side of the Destin Bridge at the southern entrance of the Choctawhatchee Bay, just inside Destin’s East Pass. Subject to tidal inflow and outflow yet protected from surf and waves, the location is unique and only accessible by boat. Each day, hundreds of boats gather at Crab Island to enjoy to gorgeous views and lovely Emerald Coast waters. [Destin Vacation Boat Rentals](https://www.destinvacationboatrentals.com/boat-rentals/) is a popular rental option, but there are a variety of great companies to rent from.
