Ring in the New Year on the Emerald Coast

December 20, 2020

New Year's Eve is normally a holiday defined by glamour, celebration, and large crowds. Because of COVID-19, this year's New Year's Eve festivities will look fairly different. That shouldn't stop you from safely celebrating, though! The Emerald Coast offers many ways to say goodbye to 2020 while keeping yourself and your family safe. Here are four celebrations to check out.

New Year's Eve at Harborwalk Village

This year, Destin Harbor will host a free ball drop countdown event. There will be live bands at 7 PM and 9:30 PM, plus firework shows at 8 PM and midnight! Since the event is outside, there will be ample space for social distancing.

New Year's Eve at The Palms

This New Year's Eve event will feature two DJs and a magic show, all in the luxurious Palms of Destin Resort! Tickets are required, but they include a champagne toast and breakfast buffet. Say farewell to 2020 in style!

SunQuest Cruises' New Year's Eve Cruise

Celebrate the arrival of 2021 on the deck of a gorgeous boat! This 21+ only cruise will provide entertainment, dancing, a five-course meal, and a midnight firework display. Tickets start at $165.

Noon Year's Eve Balloon Drop

Traveling with young children? This balloon drop is the perfect way to celebrate the New Year with them! This family-friendly bash will run from 11 AM until 2 PM, featuring a neon balloon drop at noon. A $15 pre-sale ticket gets you skating, bouncing, a meet and great with Paw Patrol, and a frequently t-shirt.

If you're like me, you've been waiting for 2021 to get here since March. Now we can finally ring in the new year! Be sure to be mindful of social distancing and wear a mask while celebrating. Avoid highly congested areas and, when in doubt, make your own fun by renting a boat for your family or spending some time on the beach.
