Celebrate Christmas on the Emerald Coast

December 13, 2020

Christmas is the perfect time to visit the Emerald Coast. Christmas on the beach is nostalgic, tranquil, and festive- in other words, truly unforgettable. Everything is decorated beautifully, and there is magic in the air. Here are a few of the many ways to celebrate Christmas on the Emerald Coast.

Go Ice Skating

Ice skating is a delightful way to get in the festive mood. It takes a little bit of practice, but once you get going, it is thrilling and so much fun! Baytowne Wharf is a great place to try out ice skating. It costs $11 for a 90 minute skate, plus $3 for skate rentals!

Look at Christmas Lights

Nothing makes it feel like Christmas as much as seeing the world decked out in Christmas lights. The Emerald Coast goes all out when it comes to Christmas lights. Certain neighborhoods, such as Northgate Estates and Sea Oats Drive, transform into winter wonderlands every holiday season and are totally worth driving through. If you haven't already, then you should check out my guide to Christmas lights around the Emerald Coast

Build a Sandman

We've all know snowmen, but have you ever heard of making a sandman? One of my favorite things to do on the beach during the holiday season is make a snowman out of sand- or a sandman! They're cute, kitschy, and oh-so festive! This is an awesome family activity, and makes for an excellent Christmas card picture.

Visit the Festival of Trees

This year, Grand Boulevard in South Walton will have its 8th annual Festival of Trees. The decorated trees will be on display through December 25, and they are truly a sight to behold!
